      November 6, 2019 Kelly Huber and Wendy Erica Werden: “Do’s and Don’ts for Grantseekers”                                                       Kelly Huber is the Director of Strategic Grants and Initiatives, Community Investments at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA). She has worked in the nonprofit sector for 15 years in executive leadership, program management, fundraising and philanthropy. As a native Tucsonan, she is passionate about ways to support southern Arizona’s nonprofit sector and the community she calls home. In her current position at CFSA, she is responsible for managing the foundation’s community investments including competitive grantmaking, strategy development, and implementation for a portfolio of grants, special projects and initiatives. Kelly holds a BA in Spanish, BS in Environmental Science and MS in Nonprofit Organizational Management. In her free time, she enjoys spending time cleaning up Legos and being adventurous with her husband and two boys. Wendy Erica Werden is an award-winning community engagement manager with more than 25 years of outreach, marketing, media and strategic development experience. She began her career in with the Fox TV affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio – then moved to Tucson, Arizona where she has worked with associations and businesses, an environmental non-profit, and media entities including PBS and NPR affiliates through the University of Arizona. She joined Arizona Congressman Ron Barber’s office as Outreach and Deputy District Director in 2012, and re-joined the Tucson Electric Power/UniSource Energy team in early 2015 as the Manager of Community Investment where she manages donations totaling more than $2 million annually. In her personal time, she enjoys volunteering with animal rescue and the outdoors as a trail builder and section steward of the Arizona National Scenic Trail. She is proud of her work and commitment to improving Arizona, but also loves being on her horse with her trail dog on a mountain far away from the reach of her mobile phone.   December 4, 2019 Leslie Edwards: “Fearless Financials: Nonprofit Accounting for Non-Accountants” December 18, 2019 Mary Louise Luna: “Donors: The Good Ones and the Ones That Got Away” Mary Louise Luna is Director of Gift Planning for the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona. She is works with professional advisors in the community, assisting them with the philanthropic portions of their clients’ estates, and assisting nonprofit organizations in their work with prospective planned gift donors. Mary Louise also manages the Professional Advisory Committee at CFSA. For over 20 years, Mary Louise’s career has focused on fund development, with primary responsibility for legacy gifts. She previously served as Planned Giving Officer for the Carondelet Foundation where she managed a large portfolio of donors and prospective donors, and has worked extensively with many of southern Arizona’s professional advisors. Mary Louise is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Planned Giving Roundtable of Southern Arizona. She is co-founder of the Caregiver Consortium in Tucson and has served as the Chair for AFP’s National Philanthropy Day. She holds a B.A. and M.A. from Catholic University of America.
